The all-new GMC Terrain is ready to elevate the compact SUV segment with comfort and capability. It now offers more space, more advanced tech, and more safety features than ever before. Its rugged truck-inspired design helps it stand out from the compact SUV segment with aggressive good looks. Let’s take a look at everything new about the GMC Terrain.

Fresh New Features

The 2025 GMC Terrain now more closely resembles the larger GMC Acadia with its new truck-based design. The Acadia is still the larger SUV with three rows of seating and a more powerful engine, but the new Terrain now has more space inside than it did before. Also on tap for the new Terrain is a host of safety and tech upgrades. All Terrain models now come with over 15 safety and driver assistance features.

Some of these advanced safety features include Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Zone Steering Assist among several others. The Terrain’s latest upgrades aren’t just limited to safety, but also niceties like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

For infotainment, the Terrain comes standard with a 15-inch screen and an 11-inch driver information center. You can use the touchscreen or the standard Google Assistant to get directions, control vehicle functions, install apps, or reply to text messages. A number of additional tech features are available as well.

Rugged Truck-Based Design

The GMC Terrain stands out in the compact SUV segment with its new truck-based design. Immediately noticeable are the new grille and more athletic stance. The grille connects the new headlights to the fog lights at the base to create a distinctive front-end look. The Terrain will also come with its first two-tone roof options in black or gray.

Inside, the cabin has been refreshed with sleek lines to show the extra width of the interior. Chrome accents highlight the upper door and console armrest. If you opt for wireless chargers, those can be found conveniently next to the armrest. The entry-level trim is the Elevation and it comes with 17-inch wheels.

In 2025, the AT4 and Denali trims will become available for the 2026 model year. The AT4 offers a number of unique features, including a lifted ride height, more underbody protection, 17-inch all-terrain tires, front recovery hooks, and hill descent control. This is the model to choose if you plan to tackle some trails with your Terrain.

Elevating Performance with the Terrain Denali

As always, the Denali model raises the bar with even more advanced tech, unique design, and plush luxury. Some standard features on the Terrain Denali include 19-inch wheels with optional 20-inch wheels, front and rear heated seats, animated lights, AWD, and Unique Smart Frequency Dampers for a more comfortable ride.

All Terrain models come standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD are also standard.

The GMC Terrain Elevation trim is available now, but you’ll have to wait until 2025 to get your hands on an AT4 or Denali trim.
