The Lexus LX700h is a new hybrid model version of the full-size LX. It comes in two unique trims and a significantly higher price tag than the regular LX. The Overtrail trim starts at $115,350. The higher trim is the Ultra Luxury model and it comes with an ultra-high price tag of $141,350. Both models are exclusively available with the hybrid powertrain.

The Luxury Flagship Adds a Hybrid Powertrain

The full-size Lexus LX is the luxury brand’s flagship SUV and it will retain its burly, blocky styling for the 2025 model year. However, Lexus brings something new to the table with a hybrid powertrain in the lineup for the first time. The hybrid LX is called the LX700h and it will come in four total trim levels. The highlight trim is the Overtrail with front and rear locking differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and a front skid plate.

The Overtrail model is unique to the 700h and is not available in the LX600. However, the Overtrail is about $8,500 more than the base LX600 Premium trim. After the Overtrail model comes the F Sport model. This one starts at $117,850, which is about $4,000 more than the F Sport trim in the LX600 lineup. Both the LX600 and the LX700h also offer the Luxury trim, with the 700h being about $4,500 more than the gas model.

However, the LX700h goes above and beyond with the Ultra Luxury trim. This is another unique trim for the hybrid, as the LX600 discontinued its Ultra Luxury model for 2025.

Hybrid Power and Performance By the Numbers

The Lexus LX700h combines a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 with an electric motor for a total of 457 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. This improves over the LX600’s output of 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The power gains may be enough to attract buyers to their local Lexus dealer to check out the hybrid LX. However, fuel economy gains are minimal, with an EPA-estimated 20 MPG combined, which is only about 1 MPG more than the gas model.

Those looking for a significant increase in fuel economy will likely pass over the new LX700h, but buyers who want an off-road-focused model or opulent luxury will find that the only way to get it is to move over to the hybrid LX. There are no comparable models in the LX600 range with the Overtrail off-road goodies or the ultimate luxury of the Ultra Luxury trim.

The Overtrail trim is probably the most attractive reason to buy the LX hybrid thanks to its rugged off-road features. However, typical Lexus quality is plastered all over the Overtrail model as well with leather trim inside and open pore wood accents. You’ll definitely be off-roading in style with the Overtrail.
